Mitre Blocks
(5 products)A mitre block is used to provide a solid guide when hand cutting mitre joints at a variety of angles, though 45 or 90 degrees are the most typical cuts required. The most common type of mitre box is 3-sided which is open at the top and at both ends to allow the material to be placed inside and lined up with the guides before making the cut. The saw is then slid into the guide to ensure it does not move or bend during cutting. This is especially useful when fitting skirting boards, coving and dado rails, as these can be sawn to the exact angles required by the installation.
